gmail emoticons - new feature

I received an email from Google about the newest feature of gmail. I know that everyone has already received this notification, thus I would just like to share this good news to those that are not yet using gmail.

For me, one of the most exciting and truly helpful features of gmail is its ability to filter spams. I just so love this feature. As a matter of fact, I'm using it instead of my webmails.

Well...Google is giving more - they're so generous. Aside from the huge mail storage space, now we can insert series of cute emoticons to give more feelings as we write. This is one cool feature because through these little gestures, we can pass on the true feelings that we have to our readers. We don't have to even settle to emoticons such as =) =( =D =P and the likes.

For some people, this may not be an important feature but for those who cares about the feeling of the person that they are talking to, this is another milestone. Thanks! Google!

See below for a quick view =)

firebug - another great mozilla add-on

I've said it before, I really love Firefox as my browser. As a matter of fact, I forgot IE for having this on board. ha ha ha... Other than it's really friendly and highly customizable, the add-ons are sooo great!

I actually started developing a new theme for Drupal two weeks ago and looking for some tutorials has led me to videotutorialzone. Their videos are truly helpful - it's like you're doing it yourself. I'm just so glad that there are people who would share their knowledge for free.

Further watching on how the ZEN drupal template can be customized courtesy of www.artlab.net, I learned about the Firebug. A cool-add on that lets users to know/edit the codes of the site in an instant. Pretty nice tool for those that are developing sites and even learners like me.

I think that Firebug will absolutely make my work a lot easier. Just spent two weeks understanding deeper the CSS and PHP and guess what? I think I'm ready to do my first theme. Wish me luck...

Add Firebug to your Firefox now...

www.happyslip.com

As I've said, one of the most interesting and entertaining topics from SEMCON2008 was presented by Mr. Ed Mapa. While there are other interesting and truly helpful topics, I can say that this is definitely the most entertaining and inspiring one. Maybe I just got tired of seeing graphs, letters and figures. And the videos have truly lightened up that first afternoon of the conference.

With so many videos presented, I wonder why I only remember Moymoy Palaboy and HappySlip. Maybe they have the most entertaining videos as they are also the artists and directors of their own films.

Christine Gambito, the owner, director and actor of HappySlip Productions just inspired me with her unique works. She was recently appointed as an ambassador for Philippine tourism. Her creativity and extreme love for her craft are just some of he obvious reasons why she became suddenly popular in the Internet.

I haven't watched all her videos but this girl truly rocks. She even have her own page in Wikipedia. Cool, isn't it? This is the page actually.

I picked one of her videos that's in-time for the holidays-- har har... this is really funny. This is what you call "complete entertainment at the comfort of your home" and an effective viral video marketing. =) Good job Christine, I'm proud to be Pinoy because of you!

Meet Christine's entire family with their Christmas Carol!

SEO Mozilla Add-Ons

I find Mozilla Firefox as one of the most useful and user-friendly browsers available today. In fact, I look at it as a perfect SEO companion.

The multiple tabs, customization and add-ons are just some of my favorite features of this browser. As an SEO, tools are very essential parts of my job. And Mozilla Firefox simply covers those need. =)

I've listed here, for me the most useful SEO add-ons that everyone can take advantage of for FREE. Thanks to its developers.

SeoQuake 2.1.12
- Seoquake is a Mozilla Firefox extension aimed primarily at helping web masters who deal with search engine optimization and internet promotion of web sites

Shareaholic 1.4.1
- Shareaholic allows you to quickly share, bookmark, and e-mail web pages via a very wide array of your favorite web 2.0 social networking & bookmarking sites - such as Delicious, Digg, Facebook, Google Reader, MySpace, and StumbleUpon, without cluttering up your browser.

InFormEnter
- InFormEnter adds a small, clickable icon next to every input field in a web form, from where you can select the item to be inserted - no typing required. You can configure it to display your frequently used information such as name, email, address...

The above three add-ons are the top 3 add-ons present in my Firefox. =) How about yours?
